Introduction
Project Overview
As the UI/UX designer for the Talk It Out app, I played a crucial role in developing a digital platform that helps individuals manage their mental well-being through talk therapy. The project aimed to create a B2B/B2C application that facilitates employee wellness, ultimately reducing burnout and improving productivity in the workplace.
Results and Impact
Following our launch, we partnered with various companies, empowering employers to use the Talk It Out app as a resource for enhancing employee well-being. A recent study conducted by Talk It Out revealed a 33% increase in employee well-being, translating to fewer sick days and enhanced productivity. With over five clients onboard and ongoing MoM growth in daily users, the app has proven to be an effective tool for promoting mental wellness in the workplace.
This project exemplifies our commitment at Nuom to deliver impactful digital solutions that address real-world challenges. Through strategic planning, user-centered design, and agile development, we successfully created a product that resonates with users and supports their mental health needs.
Highlights and Approach
Design Sprint for MVP Validation: We began by conducting a design sprint to validate the MVP features and test our initial ideas. This collaborative approach allowed us to quickly identify the most effective components of the app and align them with user needs.
Building a 0-1 Product: Our objective was to create a scalable product that employees could use daily. The "Talk It Out" technique served as the foundation, offering users a structured way to access their subconscious mind and foster positive mental well-being, akin to how good nutrition supports physical health.
See the prototype.Component Library Development: To ensure rapid iteration and consistent design across platforms, I built an iOS/Android component library. This library facilitated a faster development cycle, enabling our team to implement user feedback and new features efficiently.
Successful Launch and Growth: After six months of development, we launched the app with an impressive rating of 4.8+ across both the Google Play Store and the App Store. The initial beta rollout included 400 B2B users, which provided valuable insights and qualitative feedback. We observed a month-over-month (MoM) increase in daily engagement, indicating that users were adopting the app as part of their routine.
